Welcome to the Official Portadown F.C. Youth website

Portadown F.C. Youth was set up in the 1998/99 season when the old team of Portadown Boys linked up with our parent club, the Irish Premier League team of Portadown F.C.

Our club currently runs 12 youth teams and a Football Development Centre, which is better known as "The Academy". For the 2007/08 season we will have five teams playing in the Mid Ulster Mini Soccer League, an U8 team, two U9 teams and two U10 teams. There will also be 4 teams in the Mid Ulster Youth League, 1 at U12 level, 1 at U13 level and 2 at U15 level.  And we will have 3 teams playing in, what is regarded as the premier league for youth football in Northern Ireland, the Lisburn Junior Invitational League, those teams will play at U10, U11 & U16 levels.

The club is also affiliated to the Northern Ireland Boys Football Association and all our Mid Ulster Youth League 11-a-side teams have been entered into the 2007/08 N.I.B.F.A. Cup.

This season (April 2008) we entered three teams into the Easter & Spring Festival of Football Tournament in Ayr, Scotland, our U9 & U10 Mini Soccer teams won their respective age groups unbeaten and our U12 team finished 2nd in the U13 competition. Last season the Lisburn League U10 team went to the Cork Cup and they too came home as winners, beating Leeds United along the way. This website will keep everyone informed as to the progress of each team in their respective competitions & tournaments.

In the short few years since Portadown F.C. Youth was formed we have had a few players go on to play at a higher level. These players include Alan Teggart who plays regularly for Portadown in the Irish Premier League and Andrew Wright who progressed through our youth system and made his Irish Premier League debut & was called into the Northern Ireland U19 squad less than a year after signing for the senior club. Another player who played for our club was Ryan Harpur who is currently signed to Everton and played for Northern Ireland in the 2007 Milk Cup, they made it all the way to the final. Also, over the last two seasons we have provided at least ten players who have signed for Portadown F.C. .

If you are a young player and would like to play for Portadown F.C. Youth, then look for the page that belongs to the team tht suits your age. There you will see when & where the team trains and just go along and speak to the coach for that team.
