During the summer of 2007 the I.F.A. held a number of Summer Soccer Camps, sponsored by Portadown firm, Irwin's Bakery. One of these camps was held in Kilkeel and a number of Portadown FC Youth players attended this camp. This camp was particularly popular as there was players from a large number of youth football clubs attending. Teams included Valley Rangers, Portadown FC Youth, Armagh City, Tandragee Youth among others. At this camp a coach from the club was keeping an eye out for young talented players and spotted two players in particular and invited them to Portadown FC Youth for trials and both players were successful in being chosen. Those players, Steven Patterson & James Sloan now play for our U15 team in the Mid Ulster Youth League.
