Construction on Portadown FC's new grandstand, which many fans are already calling 'The New Shed', is underway and to help fund raising efforts the club are appealing to fans and the local community to back their ambitious plans to upgrade the Shamrock Park facilities.
Portadown FC's 'Buy-A-Brick' scheme, which proved to be such a popular fundraiser a few years ago is being re-launched. The project was previously used to raise funds for the 'away' grandstand at the 'Chalet End'. It is is being revitalised for a similar effort to raise funds for the new grandstand at Shamrock Park.
For £50 a 'brick' can be purchased which supporters or anyone else can get any inscription they wish, be that for themselves, a loved one, in memory of a loved one, a friend or anything else in general. This will eventually be displayed on a board in the new grandstand alongside the existing board from the away stand, which is currently located in the Members Lounge.
