BREAKING NEWS - The Mid Ulster Youth League have announced that this season's U13 league will not split into a Premier & First Division as previously planned. This is due to Aghalee Athletic & Three Ways withdrawing from the league over the last few weeks.

Welcome to the Official Portadown F.C. Youth website

Our club currently runs 8 youth teams and a CIS Mini Soccer Centre, which used to be known as "The Academy". For the 2008/09 season we will have teams from the U8's, U9's & U10's playing in the Mid Ulster Mini Soccer League. There will also be 2 teams in the Mid Ulster Youth League, at U13's & U16's level. The club is also continuing to establish itself by entering teams into what is regarded as the premier league for youth football in Northern Ireland, the Lisburn Junior Invitational League, those teams will play at U11, U12 & U13 levels.

The club is also affiliated to the Northern Ireland Boys Football Association and enters teams into the N.I.B.F.A. Cup.

Last season (2007/08) we entered three teams into the Easter & Spring Festival of Football Tournament in Ayr, Scotland, our U9 & U10 Mini Soccer teams won their respective age groups unbeaten and our Mid Ulster League U12 team finished 2nd in the U13 competition. Also our Lisburn League U12 team went to Londonderry to play in the Foyle Cup. This website will keep everyone informed as to the progress of each team in their respective competitions & tournaments.

In the short few years since Portadown F.C. Youth was formed we have had a few players go on to play at a higher level. These players include Alan Teggart who has played regularly for Portadown in the Irish Premier League and Andrew Wright who progressed through our youth system and made his Irish Premier League debut & was called into the Northern Ireland U19 squad less than a year after signing for the senior club. Another player who played for our club was Ryan Harpur who went on to sign for English Premiership side Everton and played for Northern Ireland in the 2007 Milk Cup, they made it all the way to the final. Of last season's U16 sqaud 8 players went on to sign for the senior club and over the last few season's we have provided at least 20 players who have signed for Portadown F.C. .

If you are a young player and would like to play for Portadown F.C. Youth, then look for the page that belongs to the team that suits your age. There you will see when & where the team trains and just go along and speak to the coach for that team.

BALLBOYS REQUIRED

Ballboys for Shamrock Park are normally been supplied by members of the younger Youth sides and at least six new ballboys are urgently required to cover matches for the rest of the season. Any child wishing to do ballboy should contact the club by email at portsyouth@yahoo.co.uk  . The next scheduled match at Shamrock Park is on Tuesday 18th November.
