25th January 2008 - McKinney Gets The Big 100
The match against Lisburn Wanderers on Saturday 19th January saw this team hit a big milestone for the second season running. Brett McKinney's second goal of the match at the start of the second half was the 100th goal this team has scored this season. This is a remarkable feat as this is only the team's second season in competive football.
8th January 2008 - Latest Signings
Portadown FC Youth U11's have added to their squad for this season with a number of new players. They are Peter Campbell who has made the step up form our 1997 team, Mark Whitten who has slotted into his proper age group after starting the season with our 1995 team. Their is also Nathan Woolsey who has come from Loughgall and young Downpatrick player, Eoghan McCawl. The team's latest signing is Jonny Douglas who has transfered from Lisburn League competitors Sunnyside.
12th December 2007 - Lisburn League Shield Semi Final Re-arranged
As the semi final match scheduled for Sat. 8th December was postponed and the the final being scheduled for the 29th December this weekend's league match against Banbridge Town has been postponed and the semi final will now take place on Sat. 15th December at Barbour 1 with an 11.15am kick off.
6th November 2007 - Team Withdraws From This Seasons N.I.B.F.A.Cup
The U11's have withdrawn from this season's N.I.B.F.A. Cup. They have taken this decision due to a rule change this season by the Lisburn League. The rule states that only the league champions from the previous season will have free passage to enter the N.I.B.F.A. Cup, all other teams will have to forfeit the league or cup matches that the league has scheduled for that date. With this team currnetly challenging for the league title they have decided to concentrate on the Lisburn League.
30th October 2007 - N.I.B.F.A. Cup
The boys start their second attempt at winning the F.A. Cup with a home tie against Tristar Boys from the Derry & District Youth League. They reached the semi finals of last year's tournament and are the first of a Portadown FC Youth v Tristar Boys double header with this game on Saturday 8th December. Our U13 team also face Tristar the following week in the Tesco Cup.
22nd August - Player Leaves.
Paul Rae's team has lost a influential player for this season. Christian Stewart has moved on and has signed for Linfield for the coming season.
